Long list is up!

Meeting is next week! Still plenty of time to read the book and even if you haven't why not come along anyway? It's long list time - so please go vote at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QYKGTGV. This is the last time we'll use this list - it will be dropped after the December meeting and a new one put together for January.

New venue

Sorry this has gone quiet again. I've been having a stressful time and really am struggling to find venues that might work and don't have stupidly expensive food. I have some suggestions so maybe I could have people's thoughts?
1. The Green Man - Great Portland Street (this is where BG was when I first joined in fact!) http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/green-man-euston/c0631/
2. Central Station - Kings Cross http://www.centralstation.co.uk/index.html
3. 5th View - Waterstones on Piccadilly http://www.5thview.co.uk/
4. Costa @ Waterstones on Gower Street
5. Costa @ Southampton Row

These are a mix of pubs that do not too expensive food, and coffee shops that are either in book shops or have space in them. I looked at a number of other bookshops that do cool things but they tend to be closed on Sunday's and other pubs but pub food seems to have reached the £15 for a main course as standard thing. Bit of a nightmare. We could try a few out over October/November/December and pick a permanent venue for the new year?

Thoughts? Comments?

Let's get this party started ;o)

The first meeting of Bibliogoth is absolutely *ages* will take place on Sunday 2nd June to discuss 'The Windup Girl' by Paolo Bacigalupi. If you've not been to a meeting before then the format is we all read the same book each month and then we turn up and chat about it. And Star Wars. And Dr Who.. and, well, we're not usually very good at staying on topic but it's fun and the group is very relaxed.

As it should hopefully be nice weather we'll be having a picnic this tim round in Highgate Woods. The Woodsman is nearby so we can use that as a backup if it's raining.

Please spread the word - it would be great to get some new faces into the group! The Facebook event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/179859255501158/

Cancelling this weeks meeting

There's not been much interest in this weeks meeting and the book is extremely long so I'm going to suggest we skip this month, and discuss 'The Golden Notebook' in September. I still have 10 years anniversary plans which hopefully I'll sort out later this week!

Sorry for inconvenience!
